Troy and Chad started securing options on several large tracks of agricultural land in Loveland, Colorado, including purchasing 440 acres of land from their father, Derek McWhinney

Chad and Troy sell 40 acres of land to JMJ Properties for the development of The Outlets at Loveland, working closely with the City of Loveland on infrastructure and entitlement negotiations

McWHINNEY develops first corporate headquarters office campus for Factual Data Corporation (FDC I, II and IV)

McWHINNEY develops first retail center, Marketplace at Centerra, anchored by Target

McWHINNEY, in partnership with the City of Loveland, creates the master planned community of Centerra encompassing over 3,000 acres and six square miles of contiguous land

McWHINNEY develops Swift and Company, a Fortune 500 corporation, world headquarters at Promontory in Greeley

The Promenade Shops at Centerra open and Colorado BMW opens as the first dealership at The Motorplex at Centerra

In 2002 Centerra is chosen as the location for a new level two regional hospital and trauma center. In 2007 this hospital was completed in partnership with Poudre Valley Health System and Medical Center of the Rockies, now University of Colorado Health

In 2012 McWHINNEY joins the Union Station Alliance as the master developer on the renovation of the historic train station in downtown Denver. In July of 2014 McWHINNEY and the Union Station Alliance reopen the historic train station as Denver Union Station

Great Wolf Resort Southern California in Garden Grove, California opens

In 2015, McWHINNEY begins redevelopment of downtown Denver’s historic Windsor Dairy into a vibrant, mixed-use project to be known as Dairy Block, set to open in 2017
