The Maven hotel in Denver debuts with quirks — and sellout crowds

The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block opened March 30, becoming the latest lodging addition to downtown Denver’s booming scene.

By Tuesday — five days after its debut with no marketing surrounding it — it was sold out.

Call it emblematic of the downtown visitor boom. Call it excitement around the long-awaited project. Call it the numerical advantage to opening only a portion of its rooms at first while it puts the finishing touches on others.

Whatever you label it, though, Maven general manager Gerry Link said that early returns seem to show that investors Sage Hospitality, McWhinney and Great American Inc. made the right call on placing the 172-room hotel in the heart of LoDo.
