Kimbal Musk Will Throw an Intergalactic ’90s Block Party and We’ve Got the Scoop

On September 28, Kimbal Musk — Elon Musk’s Colorado-based brother — will throw an intergalactic ’90s-themed block party called “Everybody Plants Now” in the alley of Denver’s Dairy Block in LoDo. Co-hosting alongside Musk is Chad McWhinney of the community-focused McWhinney real estate firm in Denver. The three-hour-long dance fest begins at 7:30 p.m. when DJs Morgan Page and Alex Cruz take the stage to mix futuristic electronic spinoffs of ’90s-era hits.

Combining outer space with ’90s pop culture reflects our nation’s scientific history — the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope on April 24, 1990 kicked off a decade that sent out twice as many space shuttles as the one before it. Though it’s likely that the Musk family’s involvement in SpaceX influenced this year’s theme at least a little bit, it also complements the futuristic mindset of Musk and Hugo Matheson’s nonprofit, Big Green, which benefits from all ticket sales.
