McWhinney debuts two unique apartment communities in downtown Denver

DENVER, COLO. — April 3, 2019 — McWhinney, a Colorado‐based real estate investor and developer, announced today that its new apartment home community at SOVA on Grant is now complete, offering 211 multifamily homes located in the heart of Denver’s Uptown neighborhood. Located at 1901 Grant Street, construction on SOVA began in 2017.

SOVA on Grant features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, along with six first-floor walkouts, ranging from 416 square feet to 1,168 square feet. Amenities at SOVA include a 12th story après lounge space with spa, a fitness center with steam showers and virtual training/yoga studio, a golf simulator, a self-service ski/bike repair and storage and pet-friendly residences with an onsite paw spa. SOVA also offers onsite resident events programming and controlled access garage parking. Each SOVA residence features quartz countertops with tile back splash, undermount sinks in the kitchen and bath, stainless steel appliances, wood-plank style flooring and washer & dryers in each unit, all with convenient downtown access and maintenance-free living. McWhinney has partnered with Greystar to manage the operations onsite and extend a warm concierge-type feel to residents.

McWhinney is pursuing LEED Silver Certification for SOVA. LEED®, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally-recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Craine is the design architect on the project and Weitz served as the general contractor.

McWhinney is also offering downtown residences at RiDE, a brand new, micro-studio apartment living in the River North Art District (RiNo). Opened this winter, RiDE provides the perfect place to live large while dwelling small, with modern floor plans ranging from 369 square feet to 849 square feet for live/work studios. Located at the corner of 36th & Wynkoop, RiDE is within walking distance of Zeppelin Station, The Source and the A-Line train at 38th and Blake. Christopher Carvell Architects was the design architect for RiDE and Hyder Construction served as the general contractor.

The completion of these two recent Denver projects brings McWhinney’s multifamily portfolio to more than 2,500 apartment homes across the Colorado front range with plans for an additional 978 homes to come online in Broomfield, Loveland and Denver over the next two years.
