With more than 20 years of global experience spanning $2 billion in mixed-use real estate and over 5,000 luxury and lifestyle hotel keys, Jason brings deep expertise in program management, design leadership, and construction execution that drives performance and enhances long-term asset value.
Before joining McWhinney, Jason served as Head of Hotel Development at Starwood Capital Group, where he led the strategic direction and delivery of hospitality projects across multiple markets. Prior to that, he founded Yosemite Development Group, providing design and program management services for luxury hotels throughout North America and Australia, and established global design standards for SH and Starwood Hotels. Earlier in his career, Jason held senior roles at Dakota Development and sbe, Hilton Worldwide, and RTKL (now Arcadis), managing the design and construction of high-profile projects that shaped the modern hospitality landscape.
His portfolio includes globally recognized destinations such as 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, 1 Hotel West Hollywood, SLS South Beach, and Sahara Las Vegas, each a testament to his dedication to thoughtful design and development excellence.
