LOVELAND, COLO. — August 17, 2016 — McWHINNEY is pleased to announce that David Crowder has joined its Community Development team as Vice President and General Manager of Centerra. In this position David will manage and oversee the strategy, vision and execution, as well as the development and management of Centerra, McWHINNEY’s 3,000-acre master-planned community in Loveland, Colo.

Prior to joining McWHINNEY, David was Vice President of Community Development of Newport Beach based DMB Pacific Ventures, overseeing entitlements, land development, marketing and lot sales for Summerly, a 700-acre, 1,600-home master-planned community in Lake Elsinore, Calif. Prior to its disposition, David was a member of DMB Pacific Venture’s Tejon Mountain Village management team, where he was active in crafting the innovative and award-winning zoning and development regulations for the 26,000-acre resort and residential community within the 270,000-acre Tejon Ranch, and oversaw the project’s operations, community and government relations.

David served as senior executive with The Newhall Land & Farming Company in Valencia, California, where he held several positions, including Vice President of the Community Development Department, which was responsible for the entitlement of all the company’s projects. In his 10 years with Newhall Land, David was actively involved in the planning and entitlement of the 21,000-home, 12,000-acre master-planned “new town” known as Newhall Ranch. He also spearheaded the entitlement and permitting of the company’s prestigious 1,700-home Westridge community, which included a Tournament Players Club Golf Course. He was also responsible for forming the Santa Clarita Valley Transportation Alliance and the Golden State Gateway Coalition which were instrumental in attracting federal, state and regional transportation grants in excess of $140 million.

David began his real estate development career working for Rancon Financial, a real estate syndicator based in Temecula, California, as a controller, and later transitioned into master-planned community development.

David holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles, an undergraduate degree from National University, San Diego, and is an Associate Member of the Urban Land Institute.
