A ramen bar (and more) is coming to Lucky's Market in Fort Collins, but when will the grocer open?

Nearly 18 months after word leaked that Lucky’s Market is coming to downtown Fort Collins, store officials are talking about their plans for the former Sports Authority site at 425 S. College Ave. 

Construction is underway on the building that began its life as a Safeway before becoming Gart Sports then Sports Authority.

It will still take several months to renovate the space into a grocery store. Lucky’s Market — which got its start in Boulder — won’t open in Fort Collins until early 2019,  spokeswoman Krista Torvik said.

Fort Collins will be the fifth Lucky’s Market in the state; a store in Wheat Ridge opens later this summer. But the company has stores in 10 states throughout the West.
