Installation Information

Dowling’s work explores the traditions of art making in our contemporary world. His imagery comes from the forms that he is attracted to which somehow seem to always work their way into the ideas he plays with. The most common themes in his work are based in the stories in our myth traditions, but his work always begins with the visual element. Although primarily a painter with interest in classical painting approach, Dowling also works in sculpture, and spends part of everyday drawing in his exploration process.
