Stumpf's art seems to be an amalgam of the mythic, ancient and alchemic. It’s often steeped with both personal and archetypal associations, fundamentally dealing with the process of transformation. Imbued in her art have been female figures such as Pandora, Seshat, the Black Madonna, Sophia and the feminine aspect of nature. For her, there is a profound healing in the creation of art. It is a mystical and potent act.
