These Days; Long Last

Union Station | Northern Colorado

Installation Information

Touched with brooding humor and theatricality, Everson’s sculpture and related photographs examine this relationship between fabricated melodrama and longing for genuine experience. Amidst placid environments staged with dated, aphoristic signage and weathered structures, nostalgic outdoor fantasies emerge. Both creating and breaking through their own illusions, these remote scenes simultaneously engage and expose familiar visual and linguistic symbols employed to stir up a deeply artificial emotion – the yearning for something that never existed in the first place. He is represented locally by Gildar Gallery.
