"While experiencing and photographing Union Station last summer, I witnessed the history of this magnificent building unfolding. It was a mess!! And in that mess was the past resurfacing. From the basement to the post and beams of the attic my mind was reminded and excited by what was. Chandeliers that were removed once before and replaced, have been removed once again to bring back the originals. Walls scraped clean or peeled back, removing decades of covered layers of what was. Staircases and railings, ceilings, attics, basements, windows and doorways rediscovered." - Artist Giff Ewig
