Amelia Furman combines collage, text, thin layers of acrylic paint, and resin to achieve her layered works. Amelia used music-related papers such as sheet music, record labels, band stickers, venue flyers, and advertisements to create the base collage layer of the works. She then painted two of Fort Collins best known natural wonders on top for an infusion of the natural world with music. The faint shapes of French horns and music notes can be seen throughout the works.
