Bryan Christiansen, a South Dakota artist, explores themes of nature, animal physicality, and divide between domestic and “wild” worlds with his sculptures. Christiansen creates works that parallel but distort and question how humans have typically related with animals in the past by re-imagined themes of hunting and display. He goes as far as to re-imagine the hunting process by “hunting” for found materials to incorporate into his work.
