Katarzyna L.

Katarzyna graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Poland. She lives in Warsaw, where she works full-time as a conservator of works of art – paintings and polychrome sculpture in the museum. When her children were small, she started to paint and explore with watercolors while it was quiet and the children were asleep. The recurring motif in her paintings is a small, lonely paper boat on the ocean. The first image from her series is Starry Ocean. Her customers liked it so much, she began painting another paper boat and another and another. Her clients often write to say her paintings evoke memories of their childhood, holidays with family or friends, trips with beloved. Sometimes these are sad stories. Often her paintings are bought as gifts to commemorate the moments spent together on a starry night.
