Libby Barbee is a Denver based mixed media artist. Her art investigates the sometimes poetic, sometimes startling, but always-complicated relationship between nature and culture. Barbee works in interactive sculptures and makes prints that construct western landscapes from fragments of cultural debris. Her work explores the dynamics that emerge when people and place collide and questions culturally ingrained ideas like the myth of the western frontier.
