The process of uncovering the depth of layers in a figure, place or experience inspires Susan.  Her work is spontaneous with an unplanned search for answers. Each brush stroke/media application informs the next. The practice of applying materials In a dialogue of “mixed media” creates a versatile three dimensional quality influencing color, light and space. Always present is her pursuit of the balance between intensity and stillness. It is her intent to compose a translation from material to image, as it forges a new art language.
