Colorado‐based developer McWhinney broke ground Wednesday on a new multifamily rental housing project near Hover Street and Pike Road in Longmont that will add more than 200 rental units to the city’s housing stock.

The project, Clovis Point, along Longmont’s Left Hand Creek features 198 apartments and 10 townhomes, said Natalie Dustman, a developer with the company. It will be a 220,000-square-foot, three-story apartment development that is expected to be complete in the next 17 months, she said.

The apartments range in size from 560-square-foot studios to 1,252-square-foot three-bedroom residences. The size of townhomes will be 1,400 square feet.

The project incorporates high design elements that capture the essence of Longmont’s open spaces, Dustman said.
