LOVELAND, CO – August 3, 2010 – Crop Production Services, the retail business unit of Agrium Inc., has opened its headquarters in the recently completed Rangeview Four office building, an 82,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility in Loveland that is part of Centerra’s growing Rangeview Office Campus.
McWhinney was selected as developer for the office project at I-25 and Highway 34, and oversaw completion of the building on time and within budget.
More than 300 employees of Crop Production Services now work in the three-story, Class A office building, which is expected to receive the prestigious LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in the coming months. Crop Production Services officially took occupancy of the building June 14.
Earlier this year, 110 employees from the Agrium Advanced Technologies Division and the Agrium Shared Services Division moved into 30,000-square-feet on the top two floors of the Rangeview Three office building, also located in the Rangview Office Campus.
A cooperative effort between Crop Production Services, the City of Loveland, the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation, UGL-Equis, and McWhinney resulted in locating the headquarters facility in Centerra.
“We’re extremely excited to be in Centerra,” said Kent McDaniel, Senior Director of Human Resources, Crop Production Services. “Centerra is an ideal location and the surroundings of the entire development are fabulous. This was a true collaborative effort; everyone involved with the project was great to work with. We’re pleased the project was completed on time and within budget, and, more importantly, our ability to consolidate more than 300 very high-quality jobs under one roof.”
Crop Production Services’ parent company, Agrium Inc., is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Agrium was voted “Best Place to Work” in 2007 and 2008 by Calgary Inc. magazine. Agrium also was voted one of the top 40 employers in Alberta by Mediacorp Canada for the fourth consecutive year.
Wells Fargo provided the construction loan for Rangeview Four. RNL Design was the architect and Delta Construction was the General Contractor for the building. UGL-Equis served as the tenant representative and they brought on Box Studios and Brinkman Construction to design and build the tenant improvements.
Quote from Loveland Mayor Cecil Gutierrez
“The opening of Crop Production Services’ headquarters at Centerra is significant for Loveland and the region. Retaining a high-caliber, growing company in Northern Colorado was important. Crop Production Services’ employees will shop, dine, recreate, work and live in our city and surrounding communities, which adds to the vibrancy and energy around the U.S. 34 / I-25 Interchange.”
Quote from Michael Masciola, NCEDC
“The success of this project is a result of the close and cooperative relationship between Crop Production Services, the City of Loveland, NCEDC and McWhinney. It is very exciting to see that McWhinney has completed Crop Production Services’ permanent home in Centerra. Their growing presence, with the addition of Agrium Advanced Technologies and Agrium Shared Services, has and will continue to provide tremendous benefit to the local and regional economy.”
Quote from Chad McWhinney, CEO of McWhinney
“We accomplished our goal of creating a world-class building at Centerra for Crop Production Services’ headquarters. This is a growing company whose 300+ employees will work in a true class A office building in the center of Northern Colorado’s premier master-planned community. Each employee plays a vital role in positively impacting our nation’s vital agricultural industry. What is even more impressive is the way Crop Production Services goes about their business, and the quality of the people they employ. This is truly a great organization.”
