Chad McWhinney Named a Most Admired CEO for 2020 by Denver Business Journal

McWhinney, a Colorado-based real estate investor and developer with expertise in commercial, multifamily, hospitality, residential and mixed-use assets, is thrilled to announce that its Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Chad McWhinney, is being honored by the Denver Business Journal in the 2020 Most Admired CEO Awards.

This year’s Denver Business Journal Most Admired CEO Awards is recognizing 23 top metro Denver executives for their roles as innovators, business drivers and exceptional leaders, at a time when strong leadership is more important than ever before. Recipients will be honored at a virtual awards ceremony on Nov. 12th. Click here to read more about this year’s honorees.

Since 1991, McWhinney has planned and developed more than 6,000 acres of innovative and sustainable master-planned communities and more than 11 million square feet of vertical commercial and mixed-use properties throughout the Rocky Mountain region and the West Coast. Notable projects include Denver Union Station, The Crawford Hotel, Dairy Block and The Maven in LoDo, SOVA Apartments in Uptown, Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District and Centerra’s 3,000-acre master-planned community in northern Colorado.

McWhinney has  opened several new projects this year – Clovis Point, a 208-apartment community in Longmont, Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District, a 297-room hotel on Boston’s harbor waterfront and the company completed its fifth 120,000 square feet industrial building this past summer. In addition, McWhinney broke ground on its sixth Centerra industrial building in 2020 and has a 246-key Hyatt Centric boutique hotel under construction in Austin, Texas. Residential development is also progressing along the front range with single-family homes quickly filling in The Lakes at Centerra in Loveland and introduced new homes within the 1,100-acre Baseline mixed-used community in Broomfield. PARK40, a 313-apartment community situated in Baseline is also under construction and will begin pre-leasing this winter.
