LOVELAND, COLO. – April 8, 2014 – Colorado-based developer McWhinney has started construction on The Lakes at Centerra, a 300‐acre residential site located north of Highway 34 and east of Boyd Lake Avenue in Loveland. The new residential neighborhood positioned within Centerra, a 3,000‐acre master‐planned community, is planned to include 791 rooftops at full buildout. The Lakes at Centerra will offer homebuyers a range of styles and designs, including townhomes, single‐family homes and low‐maintenance patio homes.
The Lakes at Centerra will incorporate the surrounding natural beauty of the region with an active and sustainable outdoor lifestyle in a vibrant neighborhood setting. State‐of‐the‐art amenities will include a lakeside clubhouse with a swimming pool, community barbeques, playground and ample outdoor gathering spaces. Miles of trails winding throughout the 275-acres of wetlands and open space will connect residents to two lakes, recreational activities and year‐round event programming. A new pre‐K through Grade 8 school is currently in the design phase and is planned for the corner of Boyd Lake Avenue and Lost Creek Drive.
The Lakes at Centerra is within walking and biking distance to daily community conveniences. Residents will enjoy the nearby shopping, dining, daycare, banking, fitness club and medical services. In addition, the existing trail system will connect residents to the High Plains Environmental Center, providing hands‐on education and access to community gardens all within a unique outdoor living laboratory.
Four national and regional Colorado homebuilders were carefully selected to partner with McWhinney on The Lakes at Centerra. Each builder was selected for its expertise in designing and building quality homes that provide a sense of arrival and embrace the true meaning of a lifestyle community.
“We are proud to partner with an elite group of Colorado’s most innovative homebuilders to create The Lakes at Centerra,” says Kim Perry, McWhinney Vice President of Community Design. “As a local development company with strong local roots and connections to the community, it was important we selected builders that shared in our residential vision and community values.”
The general public is invited to attend the official groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for April 15 at 11 a.m., located on the project site at the corner of Boyd Lake Avenue and Lost Creek Drive.
