DENVER – January 16, 2025 – McWhinney, a Colorado-based real estate investor and developer in commercial, multifamily, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use assets, announces the release of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report. The report highlights the progress made toward the company’s sustainability, community, and economic impact efforts.

  • 4,000 Volunteer Hours: McWhinney associates volunteered thousands of hours to support initiatives such as food drives, Habitat for Humanity builds, and other community events.
  • $200,000+ Donations: Provided to local organizations and nonprofits, supporting causes including education, hunger relief, and homelessness.
  • 99 Organizations Supported: Collaborations with groups like the Boys & Girls Clubs, Food Bank of the Rockies, and Aspire Supportive Services strengthened community well-being.

Sustainability

  • Supported and sponsored Butterfly Pavilion’s BEE Sustainable Partners Program, enhancing pollinator habitats across Colorado through hands-on conservation efforts.
  • Hosted sustainability-focused events like Honey Bee Day at Baseline, Colorado’s first Pollinator District, celebrating biodiversity through community engagement.
  • Expanded environmental stewardship at Centerra, Colorado’s first Certified Community Wildlife Habitat, through events like Wild Wonderful Weekend and High Plains Environmental Center’s Native Plant Sale.

Arts, Culture, and Education

  • Sponsored events such as the Denver Chalk Art Festival and the Loveland Museum Governor’s Art Show, ensuring arts and culture remain accessible and vibrant.
  • Supported K-12 and university initiatives, including the Thompson Education Foundation’s Help Kids Succeed program, which provided supply-filled backpacks to local K-12 students, and the University of Colorado’s First-Generation and Multicultural Program, providing resources to students who may need them.

Economic Growth

  • Engaged in strategic partnerships with the Downtown Denver Partnership and other chambers of commerce to strengthen local business ecosystems.
  • Advocated for workforce development through programs like Project Destined, empowering high school and college students with real estate education and professional opportunities.
