McWhinney, Inc., the developer of Centerra in Loveland, plans to add two hotels, 420 apartments and acres of new retail and restaurant space east and west of Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 34.
“We are reimagining Centerra,” said David Crowder, McWhinney’s vice president of community development and general manager at Centerra. “As we look at the last 20 years, many of our aspirations have been fulfilled (for Centerra), but the next 20 years will look a lot different.”
Retail development can no longer be just brick and mortar stores, he said. “It has to be a complete immersion of experiences. Business as usual in retail is not something that can be sustainable.”
To that end, McWhinney has an array of projects at what has become one of the hottest intersections in Northern Colorado.
