It’s no surprise that Sage Hospitality’s first Fort Collins venture, The Elizabeth Hotel, is a game-changer for Northern Colorado. The first hotel to open downtown in decades, The Elizabeth brings with it a restaurant and two bars courtesy Sage Restaurant Group, who also is behind Departure, Urban Farmer, and The Corner Office, to name a few in Denver.
Only the second Old Town hotel option (see also The Armstrong with a basement lounge and restaurant), The Elizabeth and its food and beverage offerings raise the bar for the town of 150,000. The Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market brings an all-day restaurant, grab-and-go food shop, wine store, deli, and bar in one. (Go during daily happy hour for $5 gin and tonics and Manhattans.) And two separate bars — Magic Rat on the ground floor and Sunset Lounge on the rooftop — provide distinct night-time options. All three are worth a stopover in the Northern Colorado capital, as is the hotel itself, or at least the Instagram-worthy lobby.
