McWHINNEY, Sage Hospitality and Grand American Inc. broke ground on Dairy Block, Denver’s most innovative new urban development, on May 11, 2015. Situated one block from Denver Union Station, Dairy Block is a mixed-use redeveloped block in lower downtown featuring 260,000 square feet of office space, uniquely crafted retail offerings, an activated alley and a state-of-the-art hotel, meeting space and gathering areas. The Maven at Dairy Block, a vibrant independent hotel concept opening in Spring 2017, will feature an energetic lobby designed by Crème, Jun Aizaki Architecture and Design. The lobby eliminates traditional boundaries, creating a unique connection between The Alley and the hotel, an inviting space that welcomes both locals and visitors. The Maven will celebrate local talents with a rotating Cole.Evansction of creative art and handmade products. Adjacent to the hotel will be Kachina Southwestern Grill, a second outpost of the popular modern southwestern grill as well as an additional restaurant concept. The Maven’s 172 rich and modern guest rooms designed by JNS will exhibit a rich color palette, Loft-style décor and the latest in hotel technology. The hotel will feature a 2,300 square foot ballroom space offering a stage and garage doors opening onto The Alley. Project Partners: McWHINNEY, Grand American Inc., Sage Hospitality, Sage Restaurant Group, JNS and Crème, Jun Aizaki Architecture and Design.
