McWhinney, a national real estate investment, development and management firm with expertise in commercial, multifamily, hospitality, residential and mixed-use assets, has promoted Keith Hurand to chief development officer and Kyle Harris to senior vice president of master-planned communities.

“We’re fortunate to have such a strong, talented leadership team, and Keith and Kyle’s recent promotions are a testament to their dedication and support of McWhinney’s values and vision of creating exceptional developments that are awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind, and memorable,” said McWhinney CEO, Chairman and Co-Founder Chad McWhinney. “Their unwavering passion for innovation and their ability to inspire our teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible have been truly remarkable.”

Hurand’s multifaceted role includes overseeing all McWhinney developments, including mixed-use, multifamily and master-planned communities. His role also encompasses design, construction, oversight and execution of pivotal projects, in addition to being instrumental in decisions around new development opportunities and sourcing large-scale land development opportunities.

Before joining McWhinney in May 2023, Hurand spent more than two decades in various roles including president & chief operating officer for Newland Real Estate Group, region president at WCI Communities and division president for both Taylor Morrison and Century Communities.

Hurand works closely and collaboratively with Harris on sourcing new master-planned community opportunities, as well as identifying new residential and commercial partners that align with McWhinney’s sustainable commitments and placemaking vision.

Harris, who joined McWhinney in 2016, oversees the strategy, vision, development and execution of the master-planned communities in the McWhinney portfolio, including Centerra in Loveland and Baseline in Broomfield. He also leads the company’s sustainability efforts – Baseline is Colorado’s first Pollinator DistrictTM and Centerra is the only place in Colorado designated by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat.

Harris brings nearly two decades of experience with private/public partnerships in creating diverse master-planned communities in resort and mixed-use settings. Prior to joining McWhinney, Harris spent 11 years with Granby Ranch, a 5,000-acre community located in Granby, Colo., as CEO and Vice President of Development. Additionally, he has also held leadership positions with other noted Colorado mountain resorts, including Devil’s Thumb Ranch and Zephyr Mountain Lodge at the base of the Winter Park Resort.
